Consignment Information


1. Commission and other charges. The following charges apply per lot (unless otherwise agreed):

Sellers will pay commission charge of 15% (plus VAT).
A marketing fee is charged at £10 (plus VAT). Loss or liability for damage is charged at 1.5% (plus VAT) of the hammer price.

2. Removals. The cost of any removals (and any associated costs such as tipping fees, electrical testing, etc.) will be deducted at cost from the proceeds of the sales; if there is a shortfall after the sales the vendor remains responsible for any such costs.

3. Reserves. Reserves will not be accepted on items with a bottom estimate of less than £300.

4. Discretion. The auctioneers will apply discretion to the reserve of 10%.

5. Unsaleable Goods. The auctioneers reserve the right to dispose of any item that in their opinion is unsaleable. Electrical goods and soft furnishings which do not comply with current legislation will not be offered at auction.

6. Unsold Items. Fellows will charge a nominal handling fee of £5 if an item does not sell.
Any items unsold after an auction will be reoffered in a subsequent auction at a reduced reserve. The auctioneers may request the removal of an item if a reduced price cannot be agreed; items not removed within 14 days will be subject to a storage charge of £1 (plus VAT) per lot per day.

7. Items withdrawn from auction. A charge of 10% (plus VAT) based on the middle estimate - plus any other charges incurred - will be levied for any item withdrawn from an If the item has to be returned by post (or any other method) the vendor will be responsible for this charge. These charges are to be paid before the item is returned.

8. Intellectual Property Rights. Fellows Auctioneers Ltd reserve the right to use any photographs, background information, and research for publicity purposes both before and after the sale.

9. Results. Vendors are requested not to telephone for results on the day of the auction. Results will appear on our website: www.fellows.co.uk shortly after the auction has finished. Post-sale advice will be issued by email detailing auction results after the auction.

10. Settlement. Statements and payment are issued after 15 working days for all auctions.

11. Vendor’s declaration. By consigning an item to auction, the vendor confirms that he/she has the lawful right to sell the items listed and authorises Fellows Auctioneers Ltd to deduct the specified charges. The vendor also agrees that he/she has revealed all pertinent information that he possesses about the items particularly in relation to any repairs or alterations that may have been carried out.
