Lot Description

A Victorian silver half pint mug of slightly tapered form, the body embossed with acanthus scrolls, surrounding an asymmetrical initialled cartouche and 'C' shaped handle. Hallmarked Sheffield 1891, with the maker's mark TL?. Height measuring 3 1/2 inches (9 cm), weight 5.8 ozt (181 grams).

The mug displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Heavy tarnishing visible and would benefit from a clean and polish. Minor dents and bumps, including a small dent to the handle. File marks and acid test to handle and base. The hallmarks are clear and legible, maker's mark partly worn, also numbered KO 4260.
