Chopard
Louis-Ulysse Chopard created a well-respected name for himself producing superbly-crafted watches, at the age of just 24.
Chopard has been passed through the family to the son of Louis-Ulysse, and then to his grandson. Eventually the company was bought by the goldsmith and watchmaker Karl-Scheufele III, and his family continued to build Chopard further.
The jewellery selection was first developed in the 1980’s by his daughter Caroline. Amongst their jewels is one of their most recognisable collections, the ‘Happy Diamonds’, which feature diamonds that appear to be floating, in an array of jewellery such as rings, bracelets and pendants.
Scheufele noted that each jewel is crafted in-house in their Swiss workshops by a designated jeweller. Highlighting their belief in the importance of individuality, she assigns each sketch to a specific member of her design team. This not only ensures consistency, but also injects a personal element into every piece within the collection. By granting each jeweller the liberty to interpret and convey their creative vision, we are treated to a collection that is both distinct and vibrant.
