Edith Linnell
Edith Linnell, originally from Moseley, Birmingham, is renowned for her exceptional craftsmanship that epitomizes the Arts & Crafts movement of the early 20th century.
Initially aspiring to be a portrait artist, Linnell discovered her true passion in jewellery making. Her creations gained widespread acclaim, earning exhibitions at esteemed venues such as the Victoria & Albert Museum and retail placement in the prestigious Burlington Arcade.
Operating from an established premises on Sloane Street, Linnell's business unfortunately met its demise during the bombing raids of the Blitz in World War II. Despite this setback, her legacy endures.
Linnell's work extended to prominent showcases in Harrods and aboard the RMS Queen Mary, further solidifying her reputation as a leading figure in Arts & Crafts jewellery design.
