Gucci
The fashion house of Gucci originated as an Italian leather goods maker. Guccio Gucci, inspired by the luxurious suitcases he encountered while working as a porter at the Savoy Hotel in London, returned to Florence to pursue his passion. In 1921, he opened his first leather goods store in Florence, Italy.
Initially focused on crafting saddles and accessories for horseback riders, Gucci's designs gained popularity, particularly among English aristocrats. Over time, the brand expanded its offerings, maintaining a commitment to using the finest Italian leathers. Elements of equestrian style, such as the horsebit detail and the iconic red and green Web Stripe, continue to influence Gucci's modern creations.
