Lalique

René-Jules Lalique, the visionary behind Lalique, honed his skills in jewellery making as a young apprentice while studying in Paris. In 1885, he assumed ownership of a French jeweller’s workshop, embarking on his illustrious design career. Lalique's creative genius knew no bounds as he explored various materials such as glass, gold, enamel, ivory, and an array of gemstones in his work.

His imaginative pieces quickly gained popularity, earning admiration from prominent socialites, and featuring prominently in exhibitions. Lalique emerged as one of the foremost Art Nouveau jewellery designers, leaving an indelible mark on the era.

In addition to his jewellery creations, Lalique diversified his talents, delving into interior design and glasswork. He crafted exquisite perfume bottles and adorned the carriages of the Cote d’Azur Express with his signature style, further solidifying his legacy as an expert artisan.
