Lot Description

A Georgian white metal pair cased pocket watch with movement signed by J. Williamson of London and believed to be circa 1790, the white enamel dial with painted black Arabic numerals, case bares no hallmark or makers' initials, the movement numbered 11775 may be continental in origin and is fitted with verge escapement, fusee and square baluster pillars. Outer case diameter 52mm.

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Pocket watch, movement is not currently functioning with the most obvious fault being that the balance wheel has lost its friction fit on the staff.

Approximate date of circa 1790 taken from Britten's seventh edition.

Case appears to have been heavily polished however is in general good condition for it's age, button is intact. Dial has a few scratches and a little nibbling to the enamel around the hands however is in generally very good condition for age, minute hand is missing. There is excess glue to the edge of the bulls edge glass which would benefit from being cleaned away, glass shows some light scratches worst of which is above 12 o'clock.

Fellows & Sons do not guarantee the working order or accuracy of any watches sold.
