Lot Description
A 1930’s silver mounted cigarette box of square form with engine turned hinged lid with initial engraving opening to reveal a wooden interior, with rexine base, hallmarked W. T. Toghill & Co Birmingham 1937, width measures 3 ½ inches (9 cm). Together with a 1930’s silver christening mug with engraved decorative band and personal name engraving, hallmarked Birmingham 1933, height measures 3 inches (7.5 cm). (2).

Condition Report
The cigarette box shows general scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. The face of the box shows some areas with loss in definition and detail with tarnishing stains along the surface caused by a rubber band. Wooden interior shows noticeable signs of polish build up. Hallmark is a little rubbed but clear and legible. The christening mug shows general scratches and marks to the whole with some pitting and small shallow dents to the surface. The base of the mug shows a build up of polish and does not sit flat. Visible solder marks to both ends of the handle most likely as made. Hallmark and engraving are clear and legible.
