Lot Description

Edwardian silver salver, the body with acanthus floral scrolls and diaper surround to the vacant cartouche, shell rim and raised above three scroll feet, hallmarked Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company London 1903. Together with two pierced silver dishes, one Edwardian, one Victorian, hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd Sheffield 1899 and 1909. Gross weight 30 ozt (921 grams).

The slaver is in good condition commensurate with age and use with general scratches, marks and tarnishing to the whole. Maker's mark and hallmark are clear and legible. The floral detailing is still crisp with some build up of polish along the rim. The two pierced dishes are in good condition commensurate with age and use and both display general scratches, marks and tarnishing. The Victorian model displays a build up of polish underneath the detailing whilst the Edwardian model shows some loss of detail to the engraved cartouche. Hallmarks on both are clear and legible.
