France, Protection du Premier Age 1874, bronze medal by J-C Chaplain, a country woman suckles her infant and feeds another child, rev cartouche over sprigs and corn, central cartouche engraved Mr Le Dr Bonnety, 68mm. Extremely fine.

Condition Report
The bronze medal is in very good condition commensurate with age and use displaying minor scratches, marks and tarnishing. There are a few noticeable chips and shallow dents to the edge of the rim. Lettering and raised detail is very distinct with minor blending. A numismatist has graded the medal as 'extremely fine' as the original detail is still evident and the devices are sharp and clear with only slight surface marks and wear visible on close inspection. The fitted case, which closes securely, is in fair condition externally, with general scratches and tears to the surface along with some discoloration along resting areas, high points and around the hinges. Internally the velvet and silk lining is in good condition showing evidence of light discoloration, stains and marks.
