The medal is in very good condition commensurate with age and use, displaying general scratches, marks and tarnishing. There is evidence of various small chips and abrasions along the edge of the rim. There is more noticeable evidence of tarnishing along high points of raised detail along with some surface discoloration. The lettering and detailed motif are crisp and distinguishable with all major devices distinct. A numismatist has graded the medal as 'Good very fine' due to wear on the raised surfaces, but still retaining much detail. The box of issue is at fault, with the lid torn and no longer serving a purpose. However the fitted velvet casing is still intact and the medal fits securely.
