Lot 71

Lot Description

A pair of silver shaped-oval pedestal sweet dishes by James Dixon & Sons, each with reeded borders and two loop handles, Sheffield 1909, 5 inches (13 cm) high overall, weight 10.99ozt (341 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The sweet dishes are in fair condition commensurate with age and use. The items display general marks, scratches, tarnishing and discoloration to the whole and would benefit from a polish. Both the reeded borders and handles show more noticeable signs of tarnishing and heavy polish build up along the ridges. There is evidence of some minor pitting and shallow dents along the reeded detail. Both dishes have become slightly warped and as a result do not sit flat to the surface. Hallmarks are clear and legible.
