An 18th century memorial pendant with a signed silhouette of a gentleman to the front and woven hair to the back, on a black cord and in a fitted box marked MIERS Profile Painter and Jeweller No. 111 Strand London. The pendant measures 4.4cms x 3.6cms.

The pendant is possibly set in gold although unmarked and is in good condition apart from a tiny crack to the lefthand side of the front.

Fine scratches to the frame.

Purported to be a silhouette of a gentleman named William Doughty dated 1743 but we have no provenance.
