Lot Description
A Georgian sapphire and diamond ring with a central cushion shape sapphire flanked by two old mine cut diamonds and closed back setting. With inner engraved inscription which reads "From an affectionate Father to Annette (J?) March 31. 1823". Estimated total diamond weight - 0.50cts, Clarity - SI2/P2, Colour J/K.

Condition Report
The ring is in fair condition commensurate with age and use. The diamonds are of varying quality displaying evidence of the deteriating foil from underneath the collet. The sapphire may have been replaced at a later date and shows a variation in colour distribution with some chipping to the table facets. The Shank appears worn and displays some evidence of a resize, ring measures as size M 1/2.
