A Victorian oval shell cameo brooch, depicting Dionysus holding a thyrsus wearing an animal pelt with a crown of vine leaves and an outer engraved scroll design border. Length of brooch - 6.6cms, Width - 5.9cms.

The brooch is in good condition. There are slight scratches and areas of discolouration to the border of the brooch, the cameo is in good condition, there are some scratches in places. The pin is metal and has possibly been replaced.
