The compact overall is in good condition, there are general scratches, marks and wear in keeping with the age and use. Some more noticeable scratches from contact on the top of the box and to the catch from sliding form open to closed position. There are some noticeable chips to one of the end panels of enamelling, also with some more general slight chips to the surface of the enamel to all areas of the box. The gilding also shows general wear and tear more so in areas of contact.
