The jewellery casket is in good overall condition commensurate with the age and use. There are general scratches, marks and tarnishing with remnants of old polish especially to the recesses. There are a few dents, also dints around where the feet have been bent a little. The hinge is in good working order, the interior of the lid, gilded, is discoloured. The material to the inner and rexine to the underside of the base shows wear in keeping with the age and use. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
