Lot 324

Lot Description

A George V pebble snuff box with flush hinge, with gilt interior and personal engraving to the hinged lid. Hallmarked Birmingham 1919, gross weight 2.57 ozt (79.9 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The snuff box has wear and tear scratches commensurate with its age and use, and there is tarnishing to the whole piece, it would benefit from a clean. Hallmarks are clear and legible, the gilt interior is still bright. There is a large dint to the main body of the piece, below the hinge. There are some letters and numbers lightly scratched into the gilt interior in a small section near the hallmark. The initial engraving to the lid is clear and detailed. The hinge is in working order and the lid closes almost flush, one side sticks up slightly. There are a few small bumps along the rounded edge of the main body.
