Lot Description

A pair of late 19th century French gilt metal and enamelled opera glasses. The pink enamelled ground decorated with colourful butterflies and flowers, together with a similar pair of 'Lemaire' of Paris mother of pearl veneered examples

The plain mother of pearl opera glasses are generally in very good condition. The opera glasses with insects are generally in good condition however there is a slight dent and loss of paint to one of the lenses and the inside of both lenses is very dusty. Handle has a small chip to its top, the other enamel is good although dirty and lightly crazed.
