Lot Description
An early/mid 20th century 15ct gold amethyst brooch, the central oval shaped amethyst flanked to each side by scroll and foliate panels and further gold bead detailing. Length of brooch - 39mm, Width - 17mm. Weight - 5.1 grams.

Condition Report
The brooch is in very good condition commensurate with age and use displaying scratches, marks and tarnishing along with some discolouration. Amethyst is quite pale in colour and is displaying diagnostic tiger stripe inclusions under the table facets along with some abrasions to the facet edges under 10 X magnification, it is possible it is a later replacement. Brooch fitting is tight and secure. Hallmark and maker's mark is clear and legible.
