ROLEX - a bi-metal manual wind gentleman’s Oyster Chronograph Antimagnetique wristwatch circa 1943, the silvered dial with raised gold tone hourly baton markers and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial at nine o’clock and minute recorder dial at the three o’clock position, signed stainless steel double push piece Oyster case with gold capped engine turned bezel with dot and baton hourly markers, numbered 279355, model 3688, presentation engraving to the reverse, fitted with 13 ligne 17 jewel Valjoux calibre 23 movement with overcoil hairspring, case diameter 34mm.

Condition Report
The case has general wear and tear throughout, with surface scratches, marks and nicks, the most noteable mark on the lower left hand side lug, in the form of a small but deeper scratch. The gold cappedbezel has surface wear, with evidence of wear to the edges, with marks and scratches, but definition still ok. The pushers and crown are in good condition having light wear and tear, the dial has fairly even speckling and marks throughout, the hands have surface marks and scratches, the minute recorder hand has tarnished, the batons have marks and surface scratches. The case back has a personal engraving ‘PH Thompson FROM THE EMPLOYEES OF Thompson Bros WITH BEST WISHES 1953’ and has lots of scratches and marks, there is still good definition in the knurling. The movement is in good condition, currently running, and all chronograph functions operating, the minute hand is slightly offset so will need adjustment and a full service would be recommended.
