Lot Description

A nickel cased open face military pocket watch circa 1940 and signed by Rolex, the black dial with large gold tone Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds, case numbered A.10525 above G.S.MK.II and British broad arrow, screw down back and bezel, fitted with a 15 jewel Swiss lever escapement movement with overcoil hairspring. Dial, movement and case signed. Case diameter 48mm.

The case has several dents and knocks to the back, with lots of light surface marks and scratches from general wear and tear, the bezel and case back threads are operating ok, the acrylic crystal has lots of surface marks and scratches, the dial has several hairlines spreading outward from the 11 o’clock position, with chips to the dial edge from the 9 to the 10 o’clock position, there is no luminescent paint left on the dial, the hands look to be replacements. The bow has no plating and the crown has wear. The movement has marks and tarnishing, and is currently running, hand set operating ok.
