Condition Report
The base metal Dennison case has excessive wear to the knurling, mostly to the case back, which also has a minor dent near the centre, and general wear and tear throughout in the form of scratches and scuffs. The threads on the case bezel and back are operating, the case back requiring a little more care to screw down, should the dial has surface marks and a faint hairline from the centre to the 2 o’clock position, the crown has excessive wear, the movement is currently running, but has congealed oil and would benefit from a service, also the crown is stiff to pull into handset. The leather strap has extensive wear.
The wrist stopwatch is in very clean condition, the case having a few surface scratches, the white dial has surface debris in the form of white specs, easily removable, the blue steel hands have surface corrosion, mostly to the centre seconds (the other hand is a subsidiary minute counter at 3 o’clock). The acrylic crystal has yellowed. The gilt 7 jewel pillar wheel movement is in very good condition, and runs for short periods, and fully functioning. The Gallet pocket stop watch is in fair condition, the case has general surface wear and tear, scratches and marks, the dial has faint hairlines from the centre, ‘Gallet’ has faded, there are some chips to the middle of the dial, the glass is chipped to the edge with lots of scratches, the blue steel hands are in good condition. The movement is generally clean and fully functioning. The Timex is in fairly good overall condition, the case is dirty and the acrylic crystal is scratched, the dial and hands are in good order, the watch runs for short periods.
