Lot Description
An Edward VII open face silver key wind pocket watch, the white enamel dial signed Kays Famous Lever with black Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, the engine turned case with vacant central cartouche to reverse and milled band, hallmarked Birmingham 1901, the inner case cover with personal engraving housing a full plate movement with English lever escapement, fitted with a leather Albert. Case diameter 51mm. Together with a continental cased open face key wind pocket watch, case stamped 935, the white enamel dial signed James Reid & Co Coventry having black Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, fitted with a full plate movement with club tooth escapement. Case diameter 55mm. (2).

Condition Report
The Kay’s pocket watch is in good structural condition with dark tarnishing throughout, the dial is in good order, the gilt hands have discoloration, the seconds hand has service rust. The movement is complete and will run for short periods, but will require a service. Personal engraving reads ‘Presented to Edward Poole By His Mother Dec 12 1905’
The James Reid pocket watch is in similar condition, the dial has a few hairlines to the left hand side of the dial, the gilt hands discolored, the movement is currently running but would benefit from a service. There is some damage to the opening lip on the front bezel.
