An early Victorian foliate brooch, circa 1850, the central cluster of closed back faceted quartz, set within a foliate and shell surround, with festooned chains and dropper. Dimensions of brooch 8.4cms x 4.6cms.

The brooch is in fair condition, the dropper has incurred dents and damage in two places, there is also damage to the main body of the brooch and evidence of soft solder and a split in one place. The metal is tarnished in some places. The pin and clasp are in working order
