A late Victorian oval shell cameo brooch, circa 1890, depicting the profile of a neo-classical woman wearing a floral wreath, mounted to an ornate bead and scroll design border. (Pin deficient)  Length 5.5cms. Weight 19.1gms. AF.

The brooch is in good/fair condition in keeping with age and use. The shell cameo has retained a pleasing level of detail. Under 10 X magnification, one can see small lines, staining and marks to the surface. Shell is a little loose in the mount. The metal mount is displaying general; scratches, marks and tarnishing to the whole and would benefit with from a clean. Brooch fitting is missing and will need replacing.
