A 1980's 9ct gold opal and ruby set butterfly brooch, with circular ruby eyes, cabochon opal set body and wings and further ruby detail. Hallmarks for London 1987. Length 2cms, width 4cms, weight 5.54gms.

Condition Report
The brooch is in overall good condition. The rubies are all well matched, there is a chip to the table of one of the rubies. The opals are all in good condition, with a good play of colour. The claws may need to be checked. The pin and catch is secure. There is some tarnishing to the safety chain links.
