The George III silver tankard shows some damage due to the age of the piece. There are surface wear and tear scratches and small shallow dints to the tankard and areas of tarnishing particularly to the reeded detail and this is also slightly rubbed. There is a large but shallow dint to the body and the rim is slightly misshapen and with some small nicks. There are two cracks to the rim of the main body approximately 1cm long near the handle and another smaller crack further along the rim. The base is misshapen in places with some nicks and the tankard wobbles on its base. The capped handle is very rubbed to the tip, the initial engraving to the handle is quite rubbed and there are a few small dints to the handle. The hallmark is rubbed but legible.
