Victorian silver butter pail of circular tapered form with reeded banding. Hallmarked Charles Thomas Fox London 1840. Diameter measuring 5 3/4 inches (15 cm), weight 8.2 ozt (254 grams).

The butter pale displays wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks and tarnishing. There are some deeper scratches. The joins of the handles to the interior are visible and a little crude from the interior. The hallmarks a little rubbed but clearly legible.
