Lot Description

George II small silver sauce boat with frilled rim, personal initial engraving, leaf capped high arch scrolling handle and raised above three shell mounted hoof feet. Hallmarked London 1759. Height including handle 3 1/2 inches (9 cm), weight 3.5 ozt (109 grams).

The small sauce boat displays general wear commensurate with the age and use. There are general scratches, marks and surface tarnishing. Visible solder to the handle joins. There is a very minor area to the inside of the handle which has become a little brittle with some surface cracking. The feet have left imprints to the interior of the sauce boat. The hallmarks rubbed but legible, no visible makers mark. Worn initials also visible to the underside.
