Lot Description

Early nineteenth century Russian Fiddle pattern silver dinner forks with engraved Moon in her plenitude crest to the finial. Hallmarked Henrik Lang, 1837/38 with the assay master initials A.T, standard mark of 84, St. Petersburg, Nichols & Plinke. Gross weight 13 ozt (432 grams).

The Russian forks display general scratches, marks and noticeable tarnishing. The prongs do show some distortion towards the points and deeper scratches to the reverse from use. The Heraldic style engraving and Russian hallmarks are clear and legible.
