A German oval basket, stamped 800, with pierced openwork and embossed swag floral decoration to the raised sides, shell and scroll rims, a vacant floral bordered cartouche to either end, and an elaborate cartouche to either side encircling two cherubs. The inside base has an embossed scene depicting two ladies and a gentleman in classical dress surrounded by country scenery. Stamped 800 and with a crown and crescent moon. Length measures 14 inches (35.5 cm), and weighs 16.38 ozt (509.6 grams).
