Lot Description

George III pair of Old English silver table spoons with extended drops, hallmarked Peter, Ann & William Bateman London 1804. Together with two further George III Old English table spoons, two George III silver dessert spoons and two provincial (?) dessert spoons. Mostly with engraved terminals. Gross weight 11.5 ozt (360 grams).

The spoons display wear noticeable signs of wear with scratches, marks and tarnishing. There is also a variance of condition of the spoons displayed through loss of definition, wear to the bowl edge. The hallmarks are also in a variable condition, overall they are legible, the Bateman examples being more noticeably rubbed.
