Lot Description
An early George III Irish silver soup ladle with shell bowl and Celtic point terminal engraved with a bright cut star and crest of an embowed arm holding a scimitar. Hallmarked Dublin 1760, the makers mark probably for John Laughlin . Length measures approximately 15 inches (38 cm). Gross weight approximately 7.81 ozt (243 grams).

Condition Report
The ladle is generally in fair condition with some rubbing to the bright-cut engraving and armorial. Very slight flattening to the base of the bowl commensurate with use, no evidence of any repairs near the drop. Slight pitting with tarnish and polish residue, especially to the low relief. Maker’s mark rubbed otherwise Hallmarks legible.
