Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Eighteenth century Trefid spoons display much wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches and marks. There is distortion and dinting to the bowls with noticeable wear (metal worn down) to the edge from use. The heel is very rubbed. Makers mark IA visible to both spoons.

With reference to page 138 in Silver in the Channel Islands by Frederick Cohen & Nicholas Du Quesne Bird and published by Jersey Museum Service , the makers mark IA with the same surround is unknown and circa 1685-1744, but possibly the mark for Isaac d' Argent or Jean Amiot of Quebec, circa 1767-1792.
