Lot Description

A 1920's silver rectangular matchstick case with engine turned decoration and gilt interior, engraved to the inside From Amr Bey , who was a famous squash player, winning the British Open Championship six times. Hallmarked Lincolns Ltd, Birmingham 1928, hallmarks to both parts. Length measures 65 mm, weighing 40.4 grams.

The hinge is in working order but the clasp does not catch closed. Some of the engine turned detail is slightly rubbed, and there are just surface wear and tear scratches to the piece. The gilt interior is a little dull, and tarnished in places. There is a possible repaired small split below the clasp button. There are two corresponding hallmarks to the inside which are clear and legible.
