Lot Description
Edwardian silver mounted purse, the rectangular hinged body entirely with foliate engraving, central circular initial engraved cartouche, attached pendant loops and chain, the purse opening to reveal a tan compartmentalised interior with silver mounted divider. Hallmarked Stokes & Ireland Ltd Chester 1905. Height measuring 4 1/4 inches (11 cm).

Condition Report
The purse is in a good condition commensurate with the age and use. The hinge and clasp are in working order. There are two shallow dints to the bottom edge of the purse and also to the edges some small more noticeable scratches and the solder join is becoming visible. There are some slight areas of tarnishing and just surface wear and tear scratches to the engraved areas, overall the bright cut engraving is in good condition. There are corresponding hallmarks to the back, front and inside of the purse, all are legible, but some are slightly more rubbed than others. One of the handles pendant loops is not soldered closed, but the chain handle is currently secure. The interior is in good condition, there is a possible water mark to the inside of one of the compartments.
