Lot Description

An Georgian Irish silver caster of baluster form with pierced lid and shaped finial and engraved personal initials. Part hallmarks visible with the Dublin Crowned Harp and a possible rubbed figure of Hibernia. Height measures 5 inches (12.5 cm), weighing 3.42 ozt (106.37 grams).

The caster has some dents and creases to the body with the monogram appearing rubbed. The cover is noticeably repaired with soldering visible, the fine pattern lost in places through flooding. The very tip of the finial is bent. The spread base is slightly distorted at the rim. Hallmarks badly rubbed except for the Dublin Harp to the body and inside cover rim. Heavily tarnished throughout.
