A diamond and gemset butterfly brooch.

Lot Description
A diamond and gem set butterfly bar brooch, the central butterfly with a sapphire and rose cut diamond body, emerald, diamond and ruby wings on a plain bar with diamond terminations. Length of brooch 4.4cms. Weight 8.27gms. Bar possibly added at a later date.

Condition Report
The brooch is in overall good condition. The butterfly appears to have previously been part of another piece and the bar has been added at a later date. There are areas of tarnished and dents to the bar. There is an easily visible inclusion to one of the emeralds, the fracture surface reaching. The rubies are well matched and the sapphire is in good condition. There are easily visible inclusions to the termination diamonds. The pin and catch is a little loose.
