Lot Description

An early twentieth century 9ct gold manual wind lady's trench style Thomas Russell & Son wrist watch, the white enamel dial with black Arabic numerals and red twelve, subsidiary seconds to six o'clock, round case with integral lugs numbered 60737 and import hallmarked Glasgow circa 1913, fitted to an associated brown cord leather strap, with an unsigned fifteen jewel movement with Swiss lever escapement. Case diameter 26.8mm. Together with another early twentieth 9ct gold manual lady's Art Deco style bracelet watch with fifteen jewel Swiss lever escapement. Case diameter 24.9mm. (2)

Thomas Russell wrist watch. The manual movement is currently working. The dial has a small crack outside the minute track at 10 o'clock. Under an eye glass there are some tiny marks to the dial, the most most prominent is by the 11 numeral. The glass is scratched, the most noticeable scratch being at 2 o'clock. The case has scratches and dints as a result of general use. There are noticeable dints at the top of the case to the right of the lugs, to the right hand side of the case above the crown, at the bottom left close to the lugs and at 10 o'clock close to the glass. The back of the case has 4 dints close to the centre. The associated strap shows signs of heavy wear with creasing, loss of colour and tarnishing. The buckle is scratched with wear to the gold plating.

Ladies bracelet watch. The manual movement is currently working. The textured dial shows signs of discolouration. The case has scratches and dints as a result of general use. There are noticeable scratching to the right hand side of the case below the crown. The back of the case has a dint close to the centre. The associated bracelet is scratched. Bracelet measures 17cm including case.
