Lot 38

Lot Description

GIRARD-PERREGAUX - a stainless steel manual wind gentleman's wrist watch, the silvered dial with hourly applied batons, the tonneau shaped case numbered 76170616, fitted to an associated tan leather strap, inside is a signed seventeen jewel movement with indirect centre seconds. Case width 33mm.

Brand: Girard Perregaux

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Movement is currently functioning although the balance action is quite sluggish so the watch would benefit from service. The screws and index are blued, although the colour and quality varies indicating some 'aftermarket' blueing may have taken place. The case shows signs of general wear with scratches, marks and nicks to the edges, especially around the lugs. There are a couple of cracks to the bezel. The case back seal will need replacing. Strap appears hardly worn. Glass, dial and hands all look to be in a generally pleasing condition, although hands and dial are filthy.

Due to the opening of the case back we recommend that this watch be resealed by an authorised technician before use near water.
