Lot Description
A Victorian silver open face key wind pocket watch, the silver dial having raised gold tone Roman numerals with outer floral gilt decoration and central engraving, signed name is faded, first word is "John", dust cover is signed "John Forrest", the ornately decorated case with floral motif and vacant central cartouche to reverse, surrounded by a rose metal band and decorated case middle, hallmarked Birmingham 1898, fitted with a full plate fusee movement with English lever escapement numbered 70228. Case diameter 55mm.

Condition Report
Movement is currently functioning but would benefit from a clean and an overhaul, the case shows signs of general wear with light scratches, marks and tarnishing, the decoration still appears sharp and clear. Case would benefit from a clean. The glass bears a few light scratches, dial is lightly marked and the lettering has faded heavily, hands have some surface rust.
