Lot Description

An 18ct gold full hunter centre seconds pocket watch signed "Thos Russell & Son, 12 Church St, Liverpool", the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, minute divisions and outer track with Arabic numerals increasing in increments of twenty five, plain case with Latin phrase "ADJUVANTE DEO", "With God's help" with closed fist holding a crescent to the case front, hallmarked Chester 1916, maker's mark "TR", numbered 202618. Fitted with a three quarter plate English lever movement with chaton set jewels, Breguet overcoil, balance stop function and signed "Tho. Russell & Soon, Makers to Queen Victoria, Liverpool TEMPUS FUGIT", numbered 202618. Case diameter 55mm.

Movement is currently not functioning and is in need of a service and overhaul. Evidence suggests that the watch has never been serviced. The dial is in good condition with only minor marks and discolouration around the 7 numeral. There is also some debris trapped beneath the glass by the 7 numeral. The glass is in good condition with only minor marks. The case has some scratches and dints as a result of general wear. The front has a noticeable dint a 9 o'clock and some smaller dints between 1 and 2 o'clock. The back has some noticeable dints towards the edges between 6 and 12 o'clock and between 2 and 3 o'clock. There is some scratching to the back of the inner case.
