Condition Report
The Victorian brooch has is in an overall fair condition, there are minor surface scratches, the brooch would benefit from a clean. There is pitting to some of the solder joins, and holes and cracks to the panels, some quite large, these are mainly around the central section and centre part of the side panels. There is also a repair and piece of added support wire to the back of the central section. The hinge on the pin is nice and tight. There are two small chips to two points of one of the enameled stars, and a small crack to one of the split pearls.
The bug brooch is in a good condition, with minor surface scratches in keeping with general wear, the collet settings around the amethysts are thinning in places and show some nicks. The pin and hinge are in good working order. The top amethyst (to the head of the bug) is set slightly off centre, this is not immediately noticeable. There are some inclusions to the amethysts, visible under magnification, and also some minor abrasions, the centre stone having a small nick to the edge of the central facet. The diamonds have some inclusions.
The basket brooch is in a good condition, the brooch is stamped 750 and 003. The pin wobbles slightly on its hinge, the clasp is in good working order, the pin is hallmarked 18ct gold.
