Lot 455

Lot Description

Two early 20th century 18ct gold stone set rings, to include an opal ring, each oval opal interspaced by diamond point detail and a three stone ring with a central single cut diamond flanked by a ruby. Hallmarks for Birmingham 1904. AF. Weight 5gms.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The overall condition for both rings is fair to good, with wear commensurate to the age of the pieces. Both would benefit from a clean. Both have rubbed hallmarks which are part illegible.

The settings on the ruby and diamond ring may need attention. The diamond has white inclusions and one ruby is noticeably lighter in colour than the other. Ring size L.

Some of the diamonds in the opal ring are chipped and abraded. The opals show some crazing to the surface, they have a good play of colour showing greens, blues, pinks and purples. Ring size N.
