Lot Description
A Victorian 18ct gold five stone diamond ring, circa 1880, each graduated old European cut diamond is in a claw setting. Estimated total diamond weight 2.50cts, colour G-I, clarity SI1-P2. Weight 5.39gms. With box stamped 'Boodle & Dunthorne Goldsmiths 12 Lord Street Liverpool'.

Condition Report
The ring is in overall good condition. There are slight scratches to the ring shank in keeping with the age of the piece. The inner 18 stamp is clear, the makers mark is rubbed and illegible. The diamonds are all nice and bright. There is a surface reaching fracture to the central diamond and a black inclusion to the rim of the stone visible without magnification. There are also chips to three of the other diamonds visible with a 10x. All claws appear a little worn in places and may need to be retipped. Ring size Q1/2. The velvet to the inside of the ring box is dirty and worn and the lettering to the silk worn in places. There are some scuffs and scratches to the box.
