Lot Description
A gentleman’s stainless steel manual wind Bovet Frères & Co Lowenthal Chronographe watch head circa 1940s, the silvered dial with black Arabic numerals, outer telemetre calibrations, subsidiary sunk seconds and forty five minute register dials, outer minute track with spiral tachometric dial to the centre, blued steel hands, three piece case with fixed lugs, single push piece to the two o’clock position, fitted with a seventeen jewel movement with Swiss lever escapement. Case diameter 40mm.

Condition Report
The movement is in poor condition, the overcoil hairspring is bunched over to one side, chrono mechanism appears to be missing lever spring and possibly pillar lever, there are also signs of poor workmanship to the bottom plate near the balance cock, in the form of nicks and scraping marks. The movement is currently running, but the chronograph functions are not operating, the steel case has scratches and marks throughout, the acrylic crystal has yellowed, with surface scratches, the dial has darkened, with patina throughout, the blue steel hands have surface tarnishing.
