Lot Description

A Victorian open face key wind silver pocket watch, the silver dial having raised rose tone Roman numerals with floral gilt decoration, six o'clock subsidiary seconds and blue steel hands, the plain case hallmarked London 1864, fitted with an English lever fusee movement signed William Gray, numbered 34322, with foliate engraved balance cock, case diameter 46mm. Together with an early 20th Century nickel cased keyless wind open face pocket watch, the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, six o'clock subsidiary seconds, signed Hendersons, three quarter plate movement with Swiss lever escapement, fitted with a base metal Albert chain. Case diameter 47mm.

Open faced pocket watch, key winding manual winding movement is not currently functioning, dial shows marks and appears to has discoloured, numerals on the subsidiary seconds dial show signs of wear, hands have marks, glass is noticeably scratched and marked, case has scratches and marks as a result of general use, case is also tarnished, pendent and bow show marks and tarnishing.


Hendersons open faced pocket watch, key winding manual movement is currently functioning, dial has a small crack radiating out from the centre towards 12 o'clock and shows marks, glass has small scratches and marks, case has scratches and marks as a result of general use, case has tarnishing close to the pendent and to the rear at 6 o'clock, back of the case has a noticeable scratch, pendent and bow show marks and scratches.


The Albert chain appears to be in good condition overall. The links are displaying general scratches, marks and tarnishing to the whole. Links are articulating freely, no obvious replacement links. Clasps show signs of wear, tarnishing, marks and scratches. Both clasps are not closing correctly. T-bar shows signs of wear, scratches and tarnishing.
