A Victorian lava cameo brooch circa 1870, the central oval lava cameo depicting the side profile of a lady, the border with raised curved design detail. Length 5.8cms, width 4.9cms. Weight 34.20gms.

Condition Report
The brooch is in overall good condition. There are some slight scratches to the lava in places in keeping with the age of the piece, the detail is still sharp. There are some areas of discolouration to the outer rim and scratches visible to the back rim. The pin and catch is secure. The inner metal frame to the brooch is not necessarily original. The hinge and catch have possibly been added atta later date, yet attached well.
