SCHLUMBERGER - a vanity case of woven mesh design with an oval sapphire cabochon set to each end. Length 9cms. With French assay marks. Weight 125gms.

Condition Report
The case is in excellent. The hinge and clasp are in working order. No major scratches and scuffs can be seen, apart from general wear. Both sapphires are well matched. Small light scattered inclusion and an internal fracture can be seen under magnification. A minor nibble can be seen to the surface of one sapphire.
SCHLUMBERGER Jean, 1907 - 1987 (France) was a designer for Tiffany & Co. He is famous for his whimsical interpretations of natural forms. Many of which were inspired by sea creatures and other animals.
Schlumberger is one of only four jewellers that are allowed to sign their own work by Tiffany & Co.
